> I am just from the demonstration. Yesterday the coup committee banned all the meetings and demonstrations. along with cut-off of all but nine Moscow newspapers. Today many papers were. published as leaflets and demonstrations did take place. The major one. had been scheduled to be held at Manezhnaya sq., next to Kremlin, but the square was blocked by armoured vehicles and soldiers (without. ammunition I dare believe). So that one demonstration and meeting started. at noon by the House of Soviets (Russian Parliament and current Yeltsin’s. residence), another — at Tverskaya str in front of. Moscow City Council (1 km from Kremlin). The latter joined the former. at appr 2 pm, totally some 100 thousand people attended (my estimation).
